Who’s that?

Ivana Prpic, M.Sc., RSLP | Reg. CHCPBC

Hi, I’m Ivana. I feel very strongly that the best learning happens when we’re laughing, and when we’re having fun - whether we’re 5 or 95 years old. With experience in community health and home-based speech therapy, I love to meet a family where they are at. I know that the life of a family can be super fast-paced, and at the same time, I believe that families are the best implementors of speech and language strategies. You know your child the best, and you know what works - I’m just here to help you along the way.

My areas of expertise include early language strategies, oral-motor skills and pediatric feeding, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), motor speech, articulation, and social communication. I have experience supporting children with various diagnoses, and have supported families through obtaining a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Born and raised in Vancouver, I graduated from the University of British Columbia with my Masters of Audiology and Speech Sciences in 2021, and since then I’ve been working in public health with children under the age of 5. I also have years of experience providing communication coaching to adults virtually in corporate settings. Outside of that work experience, I was a music teacher before I was a speech therapist - so I love bringing my singing voice and my guitar to all my sessions with little ones.

Outside of my work (which I love, so so much) - I am culturally Croatian and am deeply involved in the Croatian community of Vancouver. I love playing piano, running half-marathons, playing volleyball, listening to live music, and watching great movies.
